Steven Spielberg’s Falling Skies – TNT – Tease

TNT released a brand new teaser for its ambitious new Stephen Spielberg-produced alien invasion series Falling Skies. In the clip below, protagonist Tom Mason (Noah Wyle, ER) lies to his son, broods, chats up Steven Weber (In Plain Sight), fights aliens, and generally runs around looking scruffy, sweaty, and disturbingly hot. Remember Jack Davenport’s Norrington in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest? Yeah, Wyle’s that kind of hot. I’m just sayin’.

Also in the teaser, we get our first glimpse of the aliens, which look like giant spider robots. If they had clown faces they’d hit the trifecta of nightmare fodder. The whole promo makes the series look like War of the Worlds meets Terminator meets Jericho with a dash of Battlestar Galactica (the 2004 version). As a fan of all four, I approve.

The premise of Falling Skies follows Wyle’s Mason, a former college professor who becomes a leader of the resistance against the invading aliens. The series will premiere on TNT in June. It co-stars Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation), Will Patton (Armageddon), and Dale Dye (Band of Brothers). There will be ten episodes in the first season.
