Connie Nielsen STARZ in Boss

Danish actress Connie Nielsen is coming to STARZ. Deadline.com reports she has won her first regular recurring series gig in the drama called Boss. Though she appeared many times on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Detective Dani Beck, spawning great chemistry with her co-stars, by the way, she will have a lead part in Boss, opposite Kelsey Grammer.
Grammer, a successful mainstay in television, directing and executive producing, as well as acting, hasn’t seen that much success in new shows with him in front of the camera. This time around he’ll star in the “8-episode political drama, written by Farhad Safinia and directed by Gus Van Sant.” Grammer is “Kane, the Mayor of Chicago who is diagnosed with a degenerative mental condition that only he and his doctor know about. Nielsen will play his immaculately groomed wife Meredith who is a pro with the press and tough when she needs to be. Meredith and Kane have a bad marriage and barely speak when they aren’t in public.” So, there’s your 411!
It looks like STARZ is covering the political angle with Boss, but they’ve got more action planned as well. Fans of the supernatural will want to keep an eye on their project called Brink, while those with a penchant for swords and rivalry should not miss the Camelot trailer.
