EA’s Battlefield 3 Gameplay Footage

EA recently revealed Part One of some in-game footage for the upcoming Battlefield 3, and the first thing that you might notice when you check out the clip is that realism is at an all-time high. The second thing you’ll notice is that you probably need to turn your speakers down because the audio quality is great, voices are clear, and the explosions are very, very loud.
The preview starts with the team arriving at a staging area in an APC, and we get to hear a little chit-chat going on while the guys head to their destination. A quick cut takes us to briefing, which really doesn’t show anything earth-shattering, but I guess it’s nice to get a feel for the storyline even in a preview. After getting their intel, the guys run through abandoned buildings, kick in a few doors, and it looks like the POV player almost blows away a dog.
At one point, someone makes a comment after the ground shakes about being 90 clicks away from a major fault line, so it’s probably safe to assume that’s a set-up for something a little later in the game. A quick switch to slo-mo lets you know something’s about to happen right before it does, but the awesome visuals still make it exciting. It wouldn’t be a FPS without some actual shooting so we get to see a firefight take place and then… well, those RPG’s can be a real pain in the butt sometimes.
Take a look at the video below and keep an eye out for Part Two on March 16th.
