Quick, Uncanny X-Men fans, name two mutants with blue skin, one male, one female (one traditionally good, one traditionally evil)! No, not Nightcrawler. Try again. Did you say Beast and Mystique? You guessed right! Here’s a very teasing glimpse into the upcoming June 3rd release, X-Men: First Class. In the photo are actress Jennifer Lawrence, as Mystique in her human form, seated across from actor Nicholas Hoult, portraying Beast before his blue fur takes over his body.

I’m very excited about this summer super hero picture, which promises to trace the transition of Professor Charles Xavier from enthusiastic youth to trusted, iconic mentor. Likewise, we’ll see how Magneto and Mystique part ways with the X-Men. You can get a better description of character dynamics direct from James McAvoy.

Our girl, Jennifer Lawrence, is the talk of Hollywood. She earned a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for her starring role in Winter’s Bone, where she plays a strong teen somewhat similar to the character she’ll portray in the highly anticipated Hunger Games adaptation.

As for Nic Hoult, we saw him as a kid in About a Boy, as a teen in The Weather Man, and as a dashing young man in A Single Man and Clash of the Titans.
