Katee Sackhoff in AMC’s Longmire

There’s a new AMC series in the works. The hour long pilot will be called Longmire, and follow “Walt Longmire, the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming, reported Deadline.
“Widowed only a year, [Longmire] is a man in psychic repair but buries his pain behind his brave face, unassuming grin and dry wit.” He’ll be played by Robert Taylor. Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff has won the role of the female lead opposite Mr. Taylor.
That’s right, Starbuck has a new job. Sackhoff has also played on Cold Case, ER, Law & Order, and Robot Chicken.
“Based on the Walt Longmire Mystery series of novels by Craig Johnson,” also cast “are Lou Diamond Phillips, Bailey Chase (Saving Grace) and Cassidy Freeman (Smallville). You probably know Cassidy as Tess Mercer from that CW series. Lou Diamond will portray the sheriff’s best friend.
Sackhoff’s character is “one of Walt’s deputies, hired six months ago after working homicide in Philadelphia for five years. Her relationship with Walt is filled with a playful give-and-take, while a deeper connection and sexual tension simmers beneath. Sackhoff, who co-starred on the final season of 24, recently did an arc on CSI.” Will you be tuning in?
