Kyle Chandler Ready for FX’s POWERS?

Even though critics raved about the show, Friday Night Lights never seemed to find its audience. That could be one major reason Kyle Chandler has been really picky when it comes to new offers, but another broadcast pilot thinks it has what it takes to get his attention. TVLine brings word that Chandler is being looked at for a role in FX’s drama pilot Powers.

The new show is based on Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s graphic novel with the same name that follows two detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, who handle special homicide cases that involve people with superpowers. Chandler is expected to make a decision after reading a new script that was written using his notes.

Powers was confirmed by FX at its annual upfront presentation earlier this week and will be competing against the Nashville-set drama Outlaw Country for a spot on next winter’s schedule.

Chandler’s Friday Night Lights wife, Connie Britton, will also be showing up on FX in the Ryan Murphy-Brad Falchuk-produced American Horror Story.
