Mad Men Season 5 Closer?

Behind the scenes of the AMC series, Mad Men, there is an invisible drama winding down, and its the type we viewers often take for granted. Do our favorite shows magically get renewed year after year? Today’s news suggests not.
Deadline has the scoop on a delay that will prevent season 5 of the critically acclaimed period drama from returning to the small screen this summer. It seems “after months of negotiations over compensation” creator, executive producer, head writer, and show runner of Mad Men, Matthew Weiner, is still struggling to get more money out of Lionsgate TV and AMC than what he signed on for to deliver the show 2 years ago.
Though the two sides are “said to be finally (and slowly) nearing a deal,” negotiations have been pushed back to late March. “2 years ago, when Weiner didn’t close his deal until mid-January, the season premiere was pushed to August. It’s safe to say that the delay will be even bigger this year.” What does that mean? Aside from having to wait longer for season 5, perhaps we will see more Mad Men actors taking film roles during their “hiatus.” That’s not so bad. Christina Hendricks already “booked a movie, Seconds of Pleasure.”
