Natasha Henstridge in CW’s The Secret Circle

Ready to get your witch on? The developers of The Secret Circle for the CW network definitely are. Here at BSC we’ve been watching to see what shape this new series will take. Pretty girl and Life Unexpected headliner, Brit Roberson, has taken the lead role in the series about a teen who discovers a secret coven, with Aussie Phoebe Tonkin all set to portray Faye, a villainous witch. Cutie pie Thomas Dekker is also attached to appear in the pilot. We’ve even got the skinny on your director.

But today’s focus is upon actress Natasha Henstridge. The sultry blond has captivated the big screen with roles in Species and The Whole Nine Yards and was Taylor Wethersby on television’s Eli Stone. Call me nutty, but her spy show She Spies was somewhat of a guilty pleasure of mine. Now the news comes from TV Line that “Henstridge will play Dawn Chamberlain, the New Salem High School vice principal who was once a friend of Cassie’s mother and knows all about the coven that has ruled the town for over 300 years.” Cassie, of course, is the main character, to be played by Roberson.

Good casting, yes?

The Secret Circle is based upon a series of books by L.J. Smith, who also penned The Vampire Diaries, making this series a spin-off of sorts. We also have your latest VD news.
