Psych – Kristy Swanson Guest Stars

Exsanguination (or desanguination) was sometimes a cause of death on The X-Files. Fans of the paranormal will also correlate the term to one pop culture monster, the dreaded and multifaceted vampire. Is the series Psych about to go a lil’ batty?

The TV Guide exclusive did shed some light on the matter, announcing that actress Kristy Swanson, best known as the original Buffy, The Vampire Slayer for the 1992 film, will guest star on an upcoming episode as a character with some bite.

Here’s the skinny:

Marlowe Viccellio, a beautiful and mysterious woman who catches the attention of Lassiter (Timothy Omundson). Despite their love connection, Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill) begin to suspect Marlowe of killing someone “vampire-style” after the police find a blood-drained body. The episode is appropriately titled “This Episode Sucks.”

Psych will enjoy a 6th season starting sometime this summer. The USA comedy posing as a detective drama follows a police consultant posing as a psychic. It is a little like The Mentalist.

Kristy Swanson also appeared momentarily in Pretty in Pink as the girl at the dance who liked Ducky. Her television appearances have included shows like One Tree Hill, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, CSI: Miami and Just Shoot Me.

Thank you for the update on Psych–which I’m really looking forward to. But your remark,”it (Psych) is a little like The Mentalist”–is a bit strange. Psych premiered (2006)and was on the air a full two years before the TV show The Mentalist (2008)–so actually it’s that The Mentalist which is a little like Psych.
