Quentin Tarantino Making a Spaghetti Western?
No movie genre is safe when Quentin Tarantino is around. He’s covered cheesy horror (From Dusk Til Dawn), pulp fiction (Pulp Fiction), war movies (Inglourious Basterds) and 70’s ‘grindhouse’ (Grindhouse); now he’s taking on the beloved ‘spaghetti western,’ according to Ain’t It Cool News.
The info first came to light when Italian actor Franco Nero did an interview with Italian movie site Movieplayer, saying, “The film will be called ‘The Angel, The Bad And The Wise’ and is a tribute to Sergio Leone. It’s a movie that contains humor, lots of action, but also a great plot. We have already been signed by a dozen people who will be part of project. Among the filmmakers involved include Quentin Tarantino, Keith Carradine, Treat Williams, fifteen people in all Americans who want to do this movie and so we are trying to produce it outside of Italy.”
According to the sources that Ain’t It Cool has, the above names haven’t been officially verified, but one of the stars will definitely be Christopher Waltz and the title of the upcoming film is completely wrong. This isn’t an indication of trickery by Nero, but is instead a shining example of how there are still a few bugs to work out when it comes to technologyt that translates a conversation from one language to another. At this point in time, the actual title is still unknown.
Man, there’s nothing like a good ol’ cheap western made in another country. I wonder if there’s any chance at all of talking Clint Eastwood into doing a cameo as the cowboy with no name. It just wouldn’t be the same without him.
