Stephen King Episode in The Walking Dead Season 2?

When my Uncle Stevie speaks, or writes, I tend to pay attention. Okay, so author Stephen King isn’t actually my uncle, but the horror writer is a great student of pop culture and his new interest seems to AMC’s hit, The Walking Dead.
EW reports “iconic horror novelist (and former EW columnist) Stephen King has confirmed with EW that he’s currently in talks to write an episode of the post-apocalyptic series.” Woo hoo! It isn’t every day two great things come together.
What’s the invisible connection between Walking Dead and Uncle Stevie (other than both are really good)? Well, Walking Dead director Frank Darabont directed three films based on King novels. Those are The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist. Further collaboration sounds like a natural next step to us here at BSC.
Here’s the scoop:
King tells EW exclusively that Darabont “has expressed enthusiastic interest for season 2 or possibly 3.” Although the author is still early in negotiations, the current plan would be for King to co-write an episode with his son, Joe Hill, the author of horror novels Heart-Shaped Box and Horns.
We’ve heard rumors about guest directors, we previewed a Walking Dead toy line, and we gobbled up some brains with our season two details.
