5th Annual Book Tournament: Consolation Round
The results are in; the finals are set; and we’re here today to give the defeated bracket champions their shot at redemption in the Consolation round of the best of 2010 book tournament here at BSCreview. Today we have Middle Earth champion 8. Jade Man’s Skin by Daniel Fox against Malazan Empire champion 8. The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin.
Let’s give these two fighters the chance to work out their grievances on one another. Polls will stay open one week, until Thursday, April 21, when voting will close and Consolation winner will be announced. And now, to the fight!

I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s not the easiest read in the world, but it’s such a beautifully-built world and its characters are wonderfully diverse. I hope it wins its consolation bracket – if An Artificial Night hadn’t been in it, I’d have voted for 100K all the way through.

I gave it a mixed review here, because it was extremely difficult to read but was interesting. the further i’ve gotten from it the more mixed has turned to dislike. haven’t bothered with the sequel(s), don’t plan to. as seth green in Can’t Hardly Wait would put it: “I got no time!”

Can’t Hardly Wait is a top 50 film ever. Nobody drink the beer! The beer has gone bad!
