5th Annual Book Tournament Winner

The polls are closed.  The votes are in.  The final fight was long and uncertain.  It came down to the wire. It got five times the votes of the most-voted on round up to that point, and 10 times the number of more average rounds.  The lead changed hands several times, with Seanan McGuire and An Artificial Night coming out of the gate strong, only to have Mark Hodder and The Strange Affair of Spring Heeled Jack rally and overtake them.

But as with any of the great contests, the one who can hang in till the end is the one who emerges triumphant, and this time, for this contest, that champion is…

…An Artificial Night by Seanan McGuire.  At the time of poll close it had 55% of the votes,  a clear victory, if by a narrower margin than most of her previous matches.

Big congratulations to Ms. McGuire and Daw, and thanks to all of you who voted–and all the authors who wrote the books we liked enough to include in the tournament!  We’re happy to report this was our most successful tournament ever, so expect the move to front page to be permanent.  We’ll be back next March with the best of 2011…so get reading and find your champions early!
