Joel Edgerton Joining Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron in Snow White?

Joel Edgerton was a man in demand but Vulture reports that Edgerton’s decision-making just got a whole lot simpler.
Director Tony Gilroy wanted Edgerton as the new lead in the fourth film of the Bourne franchise, The Bourne Legacy, but the studio worried that he might not have enough of a presence in the US to pack a lot of box-office clout. With that thought in mind, the role of the Jason Bourne replacement was offered to Jeremy Renner, who does pack a serious punch at the box-office these days.
Don’t feel bad for Edgerton though, because the studio was also considering him for the male lead in Snow White and the Huntsman. Apparently, Universal doesn’t have a problem with Edgerton in this film because they’re expecting Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron to provide the star power that brings the moviegoers in for this one.
Landing the lead in the Snow White film shouldn’t be considered a snub. The studio sees Snow White and the Huntsman as a top priority, with Kristen Stewart even slashing her fee to keep the movie on track. Starring in a movie with an actress that will bring in the Twilight crowd is also an excellent way to get some of that street cred needed to snag those roles in movies that only have one major lead.
