Nickelodeon’s Victoria Justice Lead for The First Time

I don’t know how much singing or dancing there will be in Jonathan Kasdan’s new film, but Variety reports that Victoria Justice (Nickelodeon’s Victorious) has signed on for The First Time.

Kasdan will be writing and directing the teen romance that follows the relationship of two high school students during their first weekend together.

According to Kasdan, “It’s really just two large parts — a boy and a girl. They meet, and it’s the first throes of their relationship… Before it gets bad, like they all inevitably do.”

Sounds like Mr. Kasdan has a slightly cynical attitude going on, and I really hope he doesn’t take it out on us by schlepping out some type of repressed angst in a weird form of big screen therapy.

Dylan O’Brien and Britt Robertson play the lovey-dovey high school students and Justice has the role of O’Brien’s dream girl. The rest of the cast includes James Frecheville, Craig Roberts, Joshua Malina, Halston Sage, Maggie Jones and Adam Sevani.

The First Time is expected to start shooting soon in Los Angeles.

I don’t know about you, but I won’t exactly be holding my breath for this one.
