Vin Diesel in Terminator 5?
During a recent press junket for the fifth film in the Fast and the Furious franchise, aptly named Fast Five (in theaters April 29th), talk began to spread about director Justin Lin’s involvement to direct a new Terminator movie, and more importantly who would be in it.
Rumors began floating around if Diesel, who has worked with Lin on several occasions, would have a shot in the movie. Alicia Malone, over at moviehole.net was able to get a chance to not only confirm that he will in fact be directing, but also that he had been talking to Diesel about the movie:
“We’ve talked about the mythology [of the Terminator series]…[pause] he’s a great guy and a great actor. I really like working with him so anything I do I usually talk to him about. Sometimes we even talk about going back and doing a little indy movie.”
Lin also confirmed that the only person he had approached for consideration in any role was Arnold Schwarzenegger. IMDb.com has a listing for the movie with a tentative date of 2014 with the last Terminator, the fourth installment Salvation, released the summer of 2009, will fans be able to wait that long? Will Vin Diesel be able to make his claim into the franchise successfully?
