Batman 3: Dark Knight Rises Adds Chris Ellis and Brett Cullen

Earlier this week, we at BoomTron unveiled tasty casting decisions (not to mention a fine word about The Joker), as they pertain to mega-sequel, Batman 3: The Dark Knight Rises. Today, thanks to Variety, we’ve got some more updates. There will be a lot of actors in this film!

According to the exclusive, “Christopher Nolan’s longtime casting director John Papsidera must have seen Apollo 13 recently, as veteran character actors Brett Cullen and Chris Ellis are set to round out the ensemble of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ tentpole The Dark Knight Rises. Cullen will play a judge, while Ellis will play a priest.”

Interesting, no? You might need a judge and a priest, should you tango with the villain, Bane. And tango you will, come July 20, 2012, when the film opens (not in 3D).

Cullen is know from a recurring role on Lost, and “recently played Nicolas Cage’s father in Ghost Rider and Dakota Fanning’s father in The Runaways. [He] will soon be seen as Chris Hemsworth’s dad in Red Dawn. That aught to more than earn the man a decent Father’s Day card, eh? He also appeared in Wyatt Earp.

Aside from Apollo 13, Ellis also acted in Days of Thunder and My Cousin Vinny. Up top you can see Ellis on the left and Cullen on the right.

I think I am the only one who hasn’t been cast in this movie :D There are a lot of people joining this movie. Can’t wait to see the new batman movie next year! I’m looking forward to seeing Tom Hardy play his part well as bane!
