Charles S. Dutton in FX’s POWERS

Powers, that critically acclaimed graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, is being adapted for the FX network. We’re sure you’ve heard by now. We have been following developments right here at BoomTron.
If you’ve never picked up an issue of Powers, you really aught to check it out. There’s a tone to the writing that I really enjoy. The comic follows Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, two partner police officers in Homicide. They investigate cases that involve “powers”. That is, people with superpowers. In their world powers are commonplace. We heard Kyle Chandler (soon to be scene in Super 8) was being considered for a role. Could it be the lead? Do you think he fits the bill?
Execs obviously think actor Charles S. Dutton fits the bill, because Deadline.com is reporting in an exclusive, he has just become the first actor signed on for the FX dramatic pilot. Dutton has been cast as Captain Cross, the head of the police department.
You are probably more than familiar with Dutton’s past work. He appeared in Legion, Fame, American Violet, Something the Lord Made, Gothika, Mimic, Nick of Time, and Menace II Society, to name just a few of his films. When we learn more, you will, too.

TWO WORDS-Tahmoh Penikett for Walker.
Kyle Chandler would also be a good option
