Cynthia Nixon in Spider-Man Inspired Law & Order: Criminal Intent

Where my girls at? I’ve got some interesting news. TV Line is reporting that actress Cynthia Nixon has landed a brand new gig. Nixon is more than just a little well known as Sex and the City‘s saucy lawyer Miranda Hobbes. The exclusive buzz has it, law is also in her future as she signs up for Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Nixon previously won a 2008 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series thanks to her guest appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, so this is not uncharted territory for her. Her Criminal IntentI role will go down in an episode said to be “loosely inspired by the troubled Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.” They always promise to rip their show topics direct from current headlines and it seems like as much is true here as Nixon’s character is “the high-strung and larger-than-life director behind a problem-plagued Broadway version of Icarus. After a sabotaged stunt results in the death of an actor on stage, Amanda spirals out of control.” Ruh-roh. “Criminal Intent‘s 10th and possibly final season kicks off May 1 (8/7c) on USA Network.”
Nixon may next appear in the film, Rampart, which I hear may also include actors Woody Harrelson, Ben Foster, Robin Wright, Sigourney Weaver, Ice Cube, Anne Heche, and Steve Buscemi. What a cast, if they all do sign on!
