Kristen Stewart’s Snow White and the Huntsman Bumped Up

Now here is a headline for you: Universal Moves up SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN to Beat Relativity’s THE BROTHERS GRIMM: SNOW WHITE at the Box Office! That morsel comes from our friends at Collider.com and it means in the war of the Whites, Snow Whites, that is, Universal isn’t playing around.
December 21, 2012 was the original release date for Snow White and the Huntsman, a film boasting actors Kristen Stewart (as Snow White), Charlize Theron (as the Evil Queen), and Thor‘s Chris Hemsworth as the titular Huntsman. We reported on his deal closing just yesterday.
Now the other fairy tale reboot, Relativity’s The Brothers Grimm: Snow White has Abduction‘s Lily Collins as Snow White (as far as we know). She has also appeared in Priest, The Blind Side, and we’ll see her eventually the big screen version of City of Bones. It will not open until June 29, 2012. That’s a year away, but about 5 months earlier than Huntsman‘s December release. Here is the latest casting news.
Now Snow White and the Huntsman unveil a new and improved release date. You and I can see it in theaters on June 1, 2012. That kicks it ahead of the Relativity production by 28 days. The question is, will 28 days make Grimm: Snow White too stale for audiences. We shall see!
