Matt Lauria in Burn Notice Season 5

Matt Lauria is a man in demand it would seem. Even though it was just on Tuesday that The Chicago Code was canceled, Lauria is already moving on to new projects. Nothing feels better after losing a job and almost immediately landing on your feet again. Lauria has been booked to appear in the new season of Burn Notice, and is the second person to be cast after Lauren Stamile, in a role that could become recurring.

From TV Line:

The Friday Night Lights grad — who turns up in fifth episode of the USA Network hit’s upcoming fifth season — plays Ethan, a discharged soldier whose intelligence and tenacity piques the interest of the CIA and reminds Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) of himself.

It’s a shame The Chicago Code had to be canceled, but I couldn’t be happier for Lauria. He’s a terrific young actor and it makes me happy to see him get the work he deserves as often as he’s getting it. I can definitely see him going toe to toe with Jeffrey Donovan’s Michael Weston. I imagine the two of them working together will be like electricity charging the air. His time playing a police officer should make the transition into a soldier a lot easier.

Hopefully after his time on Burn Notice is over, Lauria can find himself a more permanent acting job. Preferably one that doesn’t get canceled after only one season. If that doesn’t work out, he could always make the jump to movies! Whatever happens, I have a feeling Lauria will do great from here on out.
