CSI: Miami’s Eva La Rue Back to All My Children

The long running ABC soap opera All My Children is finally coming to an end in September, and to give itself a good send off, the show is looking to bring back ex-cast members for one last appearance. With it being a soap, it doesn’t matter whatsoever if any of those characters have been dead for several years. TV Guide reports that the latest star returning to the soap is CSI: Miami‘s Eva La Rue, who will be returning as Dr. Maria Santos Grey for a number of episodes. Maria first appeared on the show in 1993, and left in 1997 only to return in 2002. She left for good again in 2005 and only appeared during the show’s 40th anniversary.
Other returning actors and actresses include Josh Duhamel, Thorsten Kaye, and Cady McClain. Kaye and McClain both play characters that are deceased, which has me wonder how they will return. The way I see it, there are only three doable options:
1. They faked their deaths and have just been laying low all this time. Pretty standard stuff.
2. They appear only in flashback and remain dead in the present time.
3. They come back as zombies and begin the apocalypse, ending the show with the end of the world.
That last one might be a long shot. Other former cast members are being sought for a return before the show finally ends. With any luck they’ll be able to land the likes of Sarah Michelle Geller, Christian Slater and Melissa Leo, who all got started on All My Children.
