Eliza Dushku Carries Animated Torchwood

Do you remember that cryptic tweet Jane Espenson wrote hinting that Eliza Dushku would be a part of the web series Torchwood: Web of Lies? It’s officially official now according to Entertainment Weekly. Dushku will be the main focus of the web series, which is going to be a motion comic similar to the Spartacus web series. If you’re a fan of that style than you’ll be pleased for this artistic direction. Of coure, Dushku won’t be carrying the load all on her own. Expect to hear the voices of John Barrowman and Eve Myles reprising their usual roles of Capt. Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper respectively.
There will be a total of 10 episodes in this series, with each episode being about three minutes in length. As for the actual plot, well there isn’t much to say. Nothing has been said, but details should be revealed in the coming weeks. Right now there isn’t even enough information for me to make a wild, crazy guess at the story. All I can say is there will probably be some web and maybe a few lies.
Eliza Dushku seems pretty popular these days. We just reported yesterday that she’ll be appearing in an upcoming episode of USA’s White Collar. It makes sense that Jane Espenson, who is writing Web of Lies along with Ryan Scott, would have Dushku star in this series. The two both worked on the Joss Whedon show Dollhouse. When you know someone is good you want to work with them again.
