J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore Brings Harry Potter MMORPG Style?

The mysterious Pottermore website recently appeared on the web, and Potter fans have been buzzing with excitement ever since, tossing various ideas around about what secrets the site might soon reveal.
EW.com is joining the guessing game, and their idea is one that would definitely shake-up the online world. It could be such an earth-shattering experience that even World of Warcraft feels the pinch. One of the latest ideas to hit the web is that Pottermore stands for Potter Multiplayer Online RolePlaying Experience, and that visitors to the site will soon be able to take part in a magical MMORPG.
On the bright side, there’s some news that supports this possibility because trademark records indicate that Pottermore is a service “providing multiple-user access to a global computer information network, [...] on-line chat rooms and electronic bulletin boards for transmission of messages among users in the field of general interest [and] on-line facilities for real-time interaction with other computer users concerning topics of general interest.” Of course, the downside is that the description is kind of vague and could be used to describe a variety of possibilities, although some type of gaming and chat capabilities can probably be expected as part of the new site.
One thing’s for sure; with Harry Potter ending next month, fans hungry for more Harry will be excited for just about anything Potter-related that comes out… and if you’re looking for something to get really excited about then check out the last trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
