Kristen Stewart’s Snow White Adds Ian McShane as Head Dwarf

One Pirates of the Caribbean actor (On Stranger Tides, that is) is about to get dwarfed. No, it isn’t the same as getting punked, but I wonder if it’ll be similar to the Hollywood Hobbit making process.

His name is Ian McShane. If you don’t know him as the high seas voodoo master, Blackbeard, you may know him from Deadwood. Well, he has signed the bottom line now to portray the head dwarf in Snow White and the Huntsman. THR delivered the exclusive.

The picture got its release date bumped up recently so that it would be the first Snow White themed film to hit theaters. That means audiences will have the chance to see Twilight‘s Kristen Stewart as Snow White before they’ll have the opportunity to see Lily Collins in the Grimm Brother’s project. This is a little weird, because a Jeff Buckley bio-pic could find itself in the same predicament. And get this. A Twilight actor is involved there, too.

Who else has been cast for Snow White and the Huntsman? Well, you know who plays Snow White. Her Huntsman is Thor actor Chris Hemsworth.

And speaking of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, did you fall in love with the film’s missionary? That’s actor Sam Claflin, and I hear he is playing Prince Charmant. Yum! Charlize Theron has pulls duty as the evil stepmother.

The movie has got an August production start date and Universal plans to release the film to theaters June 1st, 2012. Instead of killing Kristen’s Snow White on behalf of the Evil Queen Charlize, Huntsman Hemsworth will help Snow White and the train her to be a warrior princess to fight back against her enemy. “McShane will play Caesar, the leader of the dwarfs.”
