Pixar’s Brave Teaser Trailer

Girl power gets animated thanks to Brave, a new project from famed studio, Pixar. I hope you’re ready to get your Celtic warrior on, er um, warrioress, that is, because Pixar is bringing it big time. I haven’t been this excited since Braveheart went to video (and that was ages ago). Today, you lucky folks can see the teaser trailer for the first, you heard me, FIRST ever Pixar film to star a chick. Just scroll down and enjoy.

We offered a first look at the project back in March. Now let’s get the scoop on the 2012 3D animated feature (slated for a June release that year). Disney.com revealed the plot will follow Merida, voiced by Kelly Macdonald, as the fiery redhead from “the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland…confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.” Like the popular Katniss Everdeen, Merida is an archer. Unlike her, she’s also a princess, the daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor, in fact, voiced by Billy Connolly and the delightful Emma Thompson. Things get interesting when Merida chooses to defy “an age-old custom, sacred to the uproarious lords of the land.” In so doing, the girl accidentally awakens “chaos and fury in the kingdom,” the type only “an eccentric old Witch,” portrayed by Julie Walters can help undo. There’s something mentioned about a “beastly curse” as well. Dun dun dun.

So, let me hear it! How excited are YOU?
