Pottermore Revealed by J.K. Rowling!

The wait is over and we finally know the truth about the mystery of Pottermore, J.K. Rowling’s latest venture into the world of Harry Potter. Unfortunately, for some anyway, the new site has nothing do with a Potter MMORPG.

NPR has the official announcement from Rowling herself, which you can view below, and she brings great news for those who have forsaken the printed page for ebooks. For the first time ever, finally, the Harry Potter series will be available in ebook form, but Pottermore will be the only place you can get them, although they will still be compatible with major e-readers like Amazon’s Kindle, the Sony Reader, and the iPad. Prices will be revealed when the site goes public in October.

In addition to offering Harry’s adventures in electronic format, the site will also allow fans to find out more about the characters they love. According to Rowling, “I will be sharing additional information I have been hoarding about the world of Harry Potter.”

Don’t want to wait until October to get lost in the virtual world of Harry Potter? You might not have to because a competition will grant 1 million fans access before Pottermore opens to the public.

I’d love to tell you that becoming one of those lucky 1 million is easy but I’m afraid I can only offer the wisdom provided by Rowling, “Follow the owl.”
