The Hunger Games Will be 4 Films?

Suzanne Collins may have written three Hunger Games novels, titled The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mocking Jay, but the news of the hour is Lionsgate may present the big screen adaptations in four films. Collider reports fans can probably look forward to four midnight showings instead of just three. Of course, this news raises plenty of questions.
Which book will be split into two? Will we have to wait a whole year in-between releases? Are we assured all the cast members will stay with the film through the duration? Everyone remembers the unpleasantness when Twilight‘s Victoria actress was recast. Of course, recent history seems to favor splitting the final film in a franchise into two. That was the case with the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Could The Hunger Games get similar treatment? When we know more, you will, too! Until then, here’s the latest casting news.
In case you’re living under a rock, here’s what the Hunger Games is all about!
Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
