Twilight Breaking Dawn’s Mia Maestro Joins Savages

Twilight Breaking Dawn's Mia Maestro cast in Oliver Stone's Savages

Mia Maestro obviously likes playing characters that aren’t easily pushed around, according to the latest from THR, because she’s making a smooth transition from one dangerous ‘family’ to another.

First, we’ll get to see Maestro as Covenant vampire Carmen in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, and then she’ll joining Oliver Stone’s Savages as a woman with a ‘soccer mom’ lifestyle that hides the toughness she developed from being involved with gangs in her past.

It doesn’t look like a whole lot has changed in her current life because hubby (Benicio Del Toro) is an enforcer for a Mexican drug cartel that applies a little pressure to two Laguna Beach weed growers (Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson) by kidnapping their girlfriend, Ophelia (Blake Lively).

Savages, based on the novel with the same name by Don Winslow, also includes John Travolta as a DEA agent, Uma Thurman as Ophelia’s mom, and Salma Hayek as the matriarch of the drug cartel. Production on the film is expected to start later this summer.
