ABC’s Once Upon a Time – From Hope to Evil

ABC has put out some glorious promo posters for it’s upcoming fantasy drama Once Upon a Time, showcasing the main characters we’ll be getting to know. Each poster has a big face front and center for you to see. We have one for Emma Swan (Jennifer Morison), Mary Margaret Blanchard (Ginnifer Goodwin), John Doe (Joshua Dallas), Regina (Lana Parailla), and Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle). Under each character image are the names of their fairy tale counterparts like the Evil Queen, Rumplestiltskin, and Prince Charming. The exception of course is Jennifer Morrison’s poster. All hers says is “Hope”.

Emma Swan is a bail bonds collector who is drawn to the town of Storybrooke by her son whom she gave up for adoption ten years ago. The whole town is a parallel world inhabited by fairy tale characters who don’t remember their past lives or their true identities. Both mother and son hold the future of the real and fairy tale worlds in their hands. I am oddly excited about this series. It most likely has to do with many of the guys in control being veteran’s of the mythologically dense Lost. Those men being creators and writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz as well as producer Damon Lindelof. With guys like that behind the wheel, this could turn out to be surprisingly intriguing and well thought out. Of course, Lost writers have a habit of stalling when they don’t know how long their show will last, so that could happen. Either way, I’m looking forward to watching Once Upon a Time.

Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito recently was cast in the duel role of reporter Sidney and the Magic Mirror.

About Brody Gibson

+Brody Gibson studied film in Vancouver, BC. I originally intended to become a video editor, but realized I have a passion for writing. To say I love television is a bit of an understatement. I watch it religiously, think about it constantly. To be able to talk about it is one the best things in the world. Combining that with my love of writing gives me the opportunity to express my opinions to the Internet masses and start gripping conversations.
