Brooklyn Decker, Anna Kendrick, and Chris Rock in What to Expect When You’re Expecting

Brooklyn Decker, Anna Kendrick and Chris Rock for What to Expect when you're Expecting

Whenever I visit the bookstore (which is often), I see tons of books that I can easily imagine being turned into movies. What to Expect When You’re Expecting isn’t one of those titles I pictured making the move to the big screen, but Lionsgate and director Kirk Jones are doing just that, and there are some seriously major players attached to the project.

Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez were among the first to hop on the baby-bandwagon, and Deadline now brings word that the girls are getting some company. Brooklyn Decker, the SI swimsuit model that made her feature film debut with Just Go With It, has signed on to portray the type of woman that most women hate; the type that makes being pregnant with twins look like a piece of cake.

Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air) is the newest addition to the cast, playing Rosie, a food-truck owner that become pregnant.

It’s starting to look like the guys will be seriously outnumbered but Deadline also brings word that at least one male will be in the mix to represent the less-than-fairer sex. Chris Rock has signed on to play Vic, a guy that leads a group of expectant fathers who shares with them what having a baby and being a father is really like, and that should be a very interesting education if he delivers it in his typical style.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting is expected to have a May 11, 2012 due date.
