CHUCK Adds Matrix Spy, POWERS has a Kingpin

Carrie-Anne Moss Vinnie Jones Chuck Powers NBC FX

According to Adam Baldwin, “Casey has either met his match, or his love match,” as TVLine brings word that Carrie-Anne Moss (the Matrix trilogy) joins the NBC spy-thriller-comedy, Chuck.

Moss, who recently starred in the Lifetime drama pilot, Normal, is joining the gang as Gertrude Verbanski, a former spy that runs Verbanski Corp., which happens to be the chief rival of Chuck and Sarah’s company. Gertrude is “ruthless and deadly,” but her one vulnerable spot is Casey (Baldwin).

The love interest/foil will be making her appearance in a multi-episode arc in the upcoming fifth and final season of Chuck, along with Craig Kilborn and Mark Hamill, who will be spicing up the season premiere as a couple of new bad guys.

Switching from spies to people with super powers, Deadline brings word that Vinnie Jones (The Cape, The Midnight Meat Train) has joined the FX pilot, Powers, the new show based on the graphic novel of the same name. Powers follows two detective in a special homicide department that investigate cases involving people with superpowers.

Jones will be playing Johnny Royalle, a criminal kingpin with the power of telekinesis, along with some other abilities.

Other names added to the roster of the new FX show include Titus Welliver, Alona Tal, and Carly Foulkes, otherwise known as the T-Mobile girl. Jason Patric and Lucy Punch star as the detectives.
