Derek Jeter 3K HBO Teaser Trailer

HBO has released a teaser trailer for Derek Jeter 3K, the network’s presentation of the documentary on the iconic New York Yankee short stop’s journey leading up to the sport’s magical three thousand hit barrier, yet another goal achieved in Jeter’s lock for Hall of Fame career. The documentary is a collaboration between HBO and Major League Baseball Productions, and HBO has it listed as being released on Thursday, July 28th, with a run time of 57 minutes (on HBO East and Latino the first night). HBO has hit some homeruns with their sports programming, including those focused on the Yankees, as I count the Billy Crystal directed 61* from 2001 to be one the really nice sports movies out there on TV.

Most importantly, and tantamount to Jeter’s achievement, Derek Jeter 3K will also probably include Minka Kelly. I wonder how much, if at all, the over-hyped return of the 3K ball, and the person who did it, will get in this film. Check out the trailer from HBO below.
