Glee Season 5 Cast Fate Revealed (Again)
Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith’s well-loved Fox characters on Glee have a prayer after all. We weren’t the only ones reporting the biggest names on Glee would see their characters graduate high school and be basically fired from the series. Even the actors themselves were confused by the news.
Well, today we have a great update for fans. Either the producers changed their minds or creator Ryan Murphy had a different intention all along. The official word on Glee from San Diego’s comic Con was Lea, Chris and Cory are safe. Not only will they appear in season four, after high school ends for their graduating characters, but fans will continue to see them beyond season four as well. Don’t forget, they have a 3-D Glee movie, too.
“Here’s the exact thing: [Rachel, Kurt and Finn] are seniors, so they’re graduating,” exec producer Brad Falchuk explained. “But because they’re graduating doesn’t mean they’re leaving the show. If you have Lea Michele under contract, you don’t say, ‘We’re gonna let you go.’” He added, “A number of the original [cast members' characters] are not graduating this year.”
“It was never our plan or our intention to let them go,” said Falchuk. “They are not done with the show after this season.”
