Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ Yates Taking on Stephen King’s The Stand?

Warner Bros struck box office gold with the Harry Potter franchise, especially with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 making a killing in less than 24 hours, and director David Yates might let them see lightning strike twice with the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand.
Yates has stayed busy with directing the last 4 Potter films, but he’s not planning on sitting idle now that the young wizard’s tale has been told. According to Vulture, Yates has his eye on a few different projects, but Warner Bros is looking at a multi-picture adaptation of The Stand as their top priority. The director has reportedly been rereading the classic King novel and is expected to make a decision on the project within the next two weeks. Since the studio is currently leaning towards splitting the massive book into three parts, it would be a huge commitment that Yates might not want to get involved with, since he’s also been busy with an Al Capone story called Cicero and the studio also has him pegged for Fables, a twisted-fairytale story based on a Vertigo Comics’ graphic novel.
The man obviously has plenty of goodies to choose from, and as a huge Stephen King fan, I’m hoping he goes for The Stand, but would he be willing to climb onboard another mammoth project so soon after completing the Harry Potter series?
