High Society Robert Pattinson in Bel Ami

Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson might be seen in a different light after watching the new trailer for Bel Ami, where Pattinson’s character, Georges Duroy, seduces his way to wealth and power in 1890’s Paris. The cast of all-star conquests include Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Duroy is a penniless soldier whose chance encounter with an old friend sets him on a path that leads to the bedrooms of various married women. Of course, all those notches on the bedpost have consequences and Duroy’s life starts to unravel at the seams when his life of lies and debauchery begins to catch up with him.

Bel Ami was actually filmed before Remember Me and Water for Elephants, so it’s surprising that the movie has been sitting on a shelf for so long, especially when you consider that Pattinson’s Twilight fame and upcoming Cosmopolis is keeping him rooted firmly in the spotlight.
