Indiana Jones Vampire Hunter Coming to Vampire Diaries?

The Vampire Diaries CW

Ever wondered what it would be like if Indiana Jones were a vampire hunter? Look no further than the upcoming third season of The Vampire Diaries. Let’s clarify something first; no Harrison Ford will be not guest starring on the show (for now at least, keep your fingers crossed), but the new character will be as close to Indy as you can get without making it actually him. Take away the whip and replace it with a wooden stake and you have Eric, our middle-aged (and apparently good looking) vampire slayer. So it’s like, what if Indiana Jones and Buffy had a kid with all of their best qualities? Bam! You’ve got this Eric guy, who you just know is going to be all kinds of trouble. Whether you’re a good vamp or a bad vamp, hunters generally don’t make the distinction.

Exec producer Julie Plec told TVLine that there could be a new baddie introduced this coming season that could potentially out due Klaus (Joseph Morgan) in terms of overall evilness. Could Eric be our new villain for the season? If so, the best way they can introduce him is to have him straight up stake Klaus. Make it known right away who’s the bigger threat. Unfortunately, Joseph Morgan was made a series regular for Season 3, so that scenario is unlikely.

Now as for who’s playing this dude, heck if I know? Let’s try a little speculation, shall we? Shout out whom you’d want to play the mysteriously handsome vampire slayer Eric in the comments below! Vampire Diaries also recently cast three new people for unspecified roles.
