James Franco wanted in on Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Twilight Breaking Dawn?

Twilight Breaking Dawn

Actor James Franco wanted to be in Twilight Breaking Dawn with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart? Is it a joke? Is it a stunt? Not really. The Oscar nominated star of 127 Hours told Playboy magazine, “I had my agent tell [director] Bill Condon that I’d’ be happy to do anything in Breaking Dawn.” Talk about offering one self up on a silver platter. How might you have cast Franco? It is just too bad he didn’t jump in when the Volturi were first cast, though there will be plenty of new vampires in Breaking Dawn, parts one and two. Enjoy the trailer now.

According to AccessHollywood, there was no mystical rhyme or reason to Franco’s interest. He didn’t even claim to be a fan or reader of Stephenie Meyer. (Speaking of Steph, see her upcoming cameo revealed!)

“…that was because it was supposed to be part of a multimedia project at Yale. I was working with a Yale undergraduate who had written an autobiographical play about putting on a theatrical production of ‘Twilight’ in which I was a character,” he continued. “So I was interested in ‘Twilight’ because I was going to be part of that play. I thought what a great connection it would be if I were also involved with the real ‘Twilight.’” I suppose I can see Franco as Edward Cullen… Or maybe Jasper?

Though he missed out on the Twilight Saga, the 33-year-old actor will star in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The reboot hits on August 5th.
