Jamie-Lynn Sigler is a Drop Dead Diva

Jamie-Lynn Sigler endured her fair share of drama on HBO’s The Sopranos, but TVGuide has revealed that she’s getting ready to crank the drama knob to +10.

Sigler will guest star on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva season finale on September 18th as Tina Howard, a “hard-edged but sweet travel agent with a sense of adventure” that receives a diagnosis of fatal cardiac arrest. The good news is that a replacement heart has been found. The bad news is the donor is her brother, who happens to be a death-row inmate that’s scheduled to be executed in 72 hours.

Tina doesn’t want to have anything to do with her brother, but she might not be able to get the heart even if she decides to accept her brother’s parting gift because California law doesn’t allow death-row inmates to donate organs.

It’s a powerful episode with a character that should fit Sigler like a glove. “We wrote this role specifically for Jamie-Lynn,” executive producer Josh Berman says. “The character she plays is tough, vulnerable, funny, and clever. She’s perfect for it!”

Sigler must have liked the work Berman did because she’s eager to get to work. “I love the show,” she says. “It’s fun and moving and there’s nothing else like it on TV. Also, I love my part. It’s something completely different from anything else I’ve ever played.”
