LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace Coming to Cartoon Network This Month

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a grown man who still loves LEGO as much as he did when he was a child. Unfortunately, LEGO is expensive these days so I get my fix from the various LEGO inspired video games. The first one that was released was LEGO Star Wars and is easily the most popular in the franchise (which has turned other popular franchises like Batman and Harry Potter in to LEGO).
In a clear demonstration of the game’s popularity, the Cartoon Network is airing a LEGO Star Wars TV special Friday, July 22. The special will be in the style of the video games and is called LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace. FBTB posted the press release for the special, giving a brief synopsis of what’s to come. “Tour guide Master Yoda leads a group of rambunctious Jedi younglings through Senate chambers when he senses a disturbance in the Force. Summoned to help save the Republic, he discovers that one of the younglings secretly boarded his ship…and has a taste for adventure! Meanwhile, C-3PO and R2-D2 are put in charge of the boisterous group and find themselves in over their heads. As the evil Sith prepare to wreak havoc, it’s up to Yoda and the droids to ensure that their young charges aren’t torn to bricks!”
If you’ve never played a LEGO game, you should know they don’t have voice actors, preferring to have the LEGO characters mime to get their points across. This method is where the humor and charm comes from. If you miss it on Friday, the special will be playing multiple times through out that weekend.
