Marvel Teases AVENGERS Assemble

Avengers Assemble! That’s the title of Marvel’s new, dazzling poster art for the Joss Whedon directed super hero flick, Avengers due in theaters in 2012. You’ll see it above, just don’t call these heroes the A-Team.

The highly anticipated fanboy dream film comes out in conjunction with Disney and is rumored to have a killer script, according to Thor actor, Chris Hemsworth who said Thor and Hulk will enjoy a spirited rivalry on screen.

The Avengers film brings an unprecedented number of stars together who already enjoy success portraying individual Marvel Comics heroes in their own franchises. Thor and Hawkeye will appear and fans already noticed Jeremy Renner as that archery expert having had a cameo in Thor’s first jaunt onto the big screen. Hulk will be along, this time portrayed not by Eric Bana or Edward Norton, but by Mark Ruffalo instead. We’ll see Robert Downey, Jr. and Scarlet Johansson from the Iron Man films (but likely no War Machine or Pepper Potts).

Captain America: The First Avenger makes its screen debut this Friday and star, Chris Evans will, of course, appear in Avengers in 2012. Can I get a “Woo!” Thank you, Marvel.com for unveiling the new poster just in time for Comic Con.
