No B.D. Wong in LAW & ORDER: SVU Season 13

Law & Order: SVU NBC

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any nuttier for Law & Order: SVU, B.D. Wong up and leaves the show. Wong, who played forensic psychiatrist Dr. George Huang, dumped the news during an SVU marathon when he was tweeting live, saying, “I actually do not return for Season 13. I am jumping to Awake! It’s awesome!” Just like that, he’s gone. You would think because Awake doesn’t premiere until midseason that Wong would stick around to at least give a proper goodbye to his character. On the bright side, Wong seems to think there’s a possibility he’ll be back. “I don’t know if or when I’ll be back! It was amazing to have such a cool job for 11 years and to be a real NY Actor.” I suppose if Awake gets cancelled he would have nice fall back with SVU.

This marks the last of the change ups for SVU’s 13th season. It started with star Chris Meloni deciding not to return and then it snowballed from there. Mariska Hargitary is reducing her schedule, requiring a replacement be found for her and Meloni. Danny Pino and Kelli Goddish are the new young and hip faces to join the cast. Blasting in from the past are Stephanie March and Diane Lane, who return for an unknown amount of episodes. I’ll bet if the producers of SVU knew how much shuffling would be happening for Season 13, they wouldn’t have let Wong go do his pilot so easily. The new season will definitely have a different feel to it with so much change going on.

About Brody Gibson

+Brody Gibson studied film in Vancouver, BC. I originally intended to become a video editor, but realized I have a passion for writing. To say I love television is a bit of an understatement. I watch it religiously, think about it constantly. To be able to talk about it is one the best things in the world. Combining that with my love of writing gives me the opportunity to express my opinions to the Internet masses and start gripping conversations.

I believe he’s yanking your chain. According to a tweet by Diane Neal from July 19th, he was on the set when she was filming (“DianeNeal You ever have a coworker that just lights up your day? That’s @BD_WONG for me. Always KNEW we’d be having a giggle.”) Why would he be there and referred to as a coworker if he’s no longer in the show?

You should check your facts. Wong’s been filming White Frog with Harry Shum Jr. and Tyler Posey.
