Ringer Reflecting on Sarah Michelle Gellar

Ringer CW

Nothing says “come watch my show” like a poster of Sarah Michelle Geller looking at her reflection in a window while displaying some sexy side boob. Entertainment Weekly was the first to get a hold of the new promo poster for CW’s Ringer. Now we know of course that SMG isn’t actually looking at herself; it’s her twin sister who she is impersonating to avoid the wrath of some mob. Bridget and Siobhan (weirdest twin names ever) both have trouble in their lives and mystery is afoot.

Much like the posters released during Comic-Con, this bears the tagline “The Ultimate Double Cross”. In case you couldn’t tell, that’s a play on words. Did you get it? SMG plays twins, so that means it’s double the cross. No? Well never mind then. I didn’t get it right away either.

How long does the show expect this premise to last? I’ve heard talk that three seasons have been mapped out, but really? How can this possibly work for three seasons? Don’t get me wrong, I’ll watch this show just to see if I’m right about it not being great,  but I hope to be pleasantly surprised. I never want a show to be terrible, that’s just what happens sometimes.

In case you missed the news; one of the twins, Siobhan (who came up with that name?), has had her stepdaughter recast. Zoey Deutch will replace Caitlin Custer as Juliet. Ringer premieres Tuesday, September 13 at 9/8C and I look forward to seeing how it looks.

These names are both of celtic origin “Bridget” – the exalted one, “Siobhan” – god is great
    I like that :-)

Yeah, I would’ve looked them up to. I was sarcastically referring to how untwin like the two names were together. Why not have something cliche like Mary and Carrie, ya know? Something that rhymes!

I trust that the writers know where they’re going with the storyline. It looks pretty intense to me. Can’t wait to watch. (Btw, If Lost can stretch out that premise for 6 seasons, I’m sure Ringer will be fine haha)
