SONS OF ANARCHY’S Titus Welliver in POWERS

Powers FX

If you want to add a little extra pizzazz to your production just hire Titus Welliver, which is exactly what FX did for their Powers pilot. AOL TV confirmed Welliver was cast as someone called Triphammer, a role which could become recurring if the pilot is picked up for series. Triphammer is described as a “genius and a narcissist” which Welliver could pull off in his sleep. He’s of the inventing type, responsible for developing a weapon that can neutralize the abilities of people with superpowers.

Welliver is a man in demand. He has worked on many different productions like Deadwood, Supernatural, Lost and Sons of Anarchy and always shows his versatility. He’s a terrific actor with a commanding on screen presence. He makes you feel like it’s all about him, even if he’s just a supporting character. So like I said, he could pull off narcissism in his sleep.

Powers is based on the comic of the same name written by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming (do they both have to use their full names?). Jason Patric and Lucy Punch have been cast as detectives Christian Walker and Deen Pilgram, who specialize in cases involving “Powers”, people have special abilities. Also appearing in the pilot are Charles S. Dutton, Bailee Madison, Carly Foulkes and Alona Tal. The cast just keeps getting more and more impressive. This is the kind of project that gets my blood pumping with anticipation.

About Brody Gibson

+Brody Gibson studied film in Vancouver, BC. I originally intended to become a video editor, but realized I have a passion for writing. To say I love television is a bit of an understatement. I watch it religiously, think about it constantly. To be able to talk about it is one the best things in the world. Combining that with my love of writing gives me the opportunity to express my opinions to the Internet masses and start gripping conversations.
