THE HUNGER GAMES Poster is fire

The Hunger Games might still be 248 days away but that’s not stopping Lionsgate from doing what they can to ramp up the excitement, and the wicked new motion poster from Yahoo! Movies will catch your eye, even if you haven’t read Suzanne Collins’ series.

The image below might take a minute or two to load, but it’s definitely worth the wait. The flaming bird is stunning, but the image is made even more awe-inspiring when you realize that we’re seeing the fiery representation of Katniss Everdeen, the symbol of rebellion that unites the people of Panem as they watch Katniss face her various challenges.

If you’re not a fan of the YA dystopian series, but the image still looks familiar, it’s probably because you saw Jennifer Lawrence wearing it on the cover of Entertainment Weekly.

The Hunger Games is shaping up to be an awesome movie with an incredible cast that includes Jennifer Lawrence, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, and Lenny Kravitz in the story of rebellion that features a whole gang of kids fighting for their lives in the cruel and unforgiving games. If you haven’t read Collins’ Hunger Games trilogy then you need to run out and grab a copy so you can see what all the fuss is about, or at least check out the review to get a good feel for it.
