George R.R. Martin’s Darkstar, Steven Erikson’s Crippled God, and Zahn’s Thrawn at Dungeon Manual

Another pointer to Dungeon Manual, which had 3 new entries this week bookended by two of the day’s lauded epic fantasy choices. The first was a look at Darkstar, George R.R. Martin’s semi-controversial character is A Feast For Crows (game of Thrones fans you will get there!), the fourth book in his “A Song of Ice and Fire” series. It does something crazy and look at text in evaluating the character, one who is often the subject of ridicule, a rarity in the Martin catalog. The piece is called DARKSTAR the Dorne Identity.

The second is a quick hitter talking the memories upon the reception of an advanced copy of the 20th anniversary edition of Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire, the first book in the too sweet for words Thrawn trilogy. Mara Jade, Thrawn, Talon Karde – it all started here! 20 years has passed, damn!

Finally, the third was the second entry of Crippled God Shank, a  posting of random thoughts that came to me while and after reading Steven Erikson’s The Crippled God, the final book in his “Malazan Book of the Fallen”. This time it focuses on the postmodern fringe and ramble a bit. This one is called Crippled God Shank – Epic Veil of a Post post-Modern Campaign.
