Comic Con, Nickelodeon, Avatar, The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra

Proof that Nickelodeon’s upcoming animated series THE LAST AIRBENDER: LEGEND OF KORRA will have some serious style is right here on Boomtron. If today’s headline has got you scratching you head, then you must have missed our report on the big reveal that Legend of Korra was in the making. Heck, the Nickelodeon network was doing some showing off just last month. How stoked are you?

As you can clearly see, Comic Con was the place for unveiling new art work for the series. This piece comes from the website of talented conceptual and comic book artist Joshua Middleton. The limited edition poster he created just for Comic Con depicts heroic Korra astride Naga, whose fur is whipping in the icy wind. See the full image by following the link above.

So, what is Legend of Korra all about? We’re glad you asked! The action takes place 70 years in the future, after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The character of Korra, an airbender (of course), and a female one at that, has been described as a “passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenaged girl from the Southern Water Tribe.” During an anti-bending revolution, who should come to train Korra, but Aang’s son, Tenzin. Very cool, yes?
