MC Selena Gomez Joins Lady Gaga

The 2011 Video Music Awards will hit a TV screen near you on Sunday, August 28th, live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. The musical event will open with a performance from Lady Gaga. Lil Wayne and Adele are also expected to perform but what about Selena Gomez? According to MTV, the gal pal of Justin Bieber will have her own special duties that night.
At 8 PM there is a pre-show planned and Gomez will be your host and guide to the black carpet. Gomez will get a little help from MTV’s team of correspondents, including Sway Calloway, Jim Cantiello and James Montgomery.

“I am very excited to be a part of the 2011 VMAs! After all of my years watching the VMAs, the pre-show has always been one of my favorite parts. It is a true honor to be hosting from the black carpet this year,” Gomez said in a statement.
What do you think of Gomez as a host? Will she be able to stay on her toes in the live format?
