Olivia Wilde, Noomi Rapace, Olga Kurylenko – Who will Cruise into HORIZONS?

Horizons, Tron: Legacy, Tom Cruise, Noomi Rapace, Olga Kurylenko

Will Olivia Wilde, Noomi Rapace or Olga Kurylenko co-star on the big screen with the notorious Tom Cruise? Well, Horizons, a project Variety calls a “sci-fi epic,” is in the works now. Tom Cruise will star in the picture, returning to the genre he once championed in pictures like Minority Report, Vanilla Sky and War of the Worlds. Mr. Katie Holmes is reportedly screen testing now on the hunt for a co-star. So maybe there won’t be multiple winners. We can’t be sure at this point. But we do now the Universal picture, which has changed its name from Oblivion to Horizons is allowing the following ladies to try out: Jessica Chastain, Olivia Wilde, Brit Marling, Noomi Rapace and Bond girl Olga Kurylenko (pictured at right). They’ll audition tomorrow!

Cruise will lead the cast by portraying Jack, a man who actually lives in the clouds above the Earth. It sounds like his job is to consistently journey to outer space, just beyond the blue planet, as a repair man for the many drones (droids anyone?) that act as a futuristic security system for the planet against enemy aliens. We should call ADT to help out! These aliens aren’t nice either. Their race has reportedly “all but wiped out humanity.” Oops.

Horizons is set to be directed by Tron: Legacy‘s Joe Kosinski. We can see the finished product come July 19th, 2013. I think I’ll root for Noomi Rapace (pictured at left). Is anyone else Team Dragon Tattoo?

I’m on team Wilde. It would be cool to see Olivia Wilde in another cool Sci Fi film.
