Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Look

The latest pics showing Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo might not be loaded with the visual impact of the movies that have come our way throughout the summer, but it’s still a nice surprise to get a peek at what will most likely be a great movie.

The new images, courtesy of Collider, focus on our two main characters, together and apart. We get to see disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) and hacker/investigator Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) doing what they do best as they sift through available information. Considering that Lisbeth doesn’t strike me as a bright and cheery person, I’m going with the assumption that the scene takes place at Blomkvist’s pad.

The next two images are a bit on the vague side, with a close-up of Mara that shows she really nails the look of Lisbeth, and a shot at Craig hanging around outside in the snow in what I like to think of as the ‘why can’t I get a damn signal on this bloody cell’ look.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, based on Stieg Larsson’s best-selling novel of the same name, will be brightening up the Christmas season when it arrives in theaters on December 21st.
